Social media tools can help promote a real estate agent's listings, image, and overall business. One is Instagram, a social media platform that generates high-quality leads. If an agent isn't using Instagram, it's time to learn how and understand why Instagram for Realtors is an effective marketing tool.

Instagram Is Visual

Real estate agents have quickly realized that Instagram provides a platform to showcase beautiful, curated photographs of homes, increasing the chances of a sale. Hundreds, if not thousands, of Instagram followers view images of gorgeous homes, sparkling swimming pools, spacious garages, and scenic lake views each day. Agents can use stories, videos, and Instagram Reels to their advantage, instantly getting the best visuals into potential buyers' hands.

Instagram Is Growing

Instagram supports approximately 1 billion monthly active users, making it one of the most popular social media platforms. The Instagram audience has grown exponentially over the past 10 years, placing it second only to Facebook. In April 2021, Adespresso by Hootsuite estimated that 71% of U.S. 18- to 29-year-old adults use Instagram. Sixty-three percent of all users check their feed at least once a day.

Instagram Is Free

Instagram offers free marketing to real estate agents, which is another appealing feature. While you can purchase ads on Instagram, and they'll likely get you results, you don't have to spend any money to be successful. The app is free on iOS and Android devices, so it doesn't cost anything to get started. It's also free to upload and share content with the world. Although Instagram has no usage limits, social media professionals recommend limiting posts to five per hour. You don't want your posts blocked until Instagram determines you're not a bot artificially posting content.

Instagram Is a Decision-Maker

In June 2022, Startup Bonsai reported that 80% of Instagram users decide whether or not to purchase a product based on Instagram results. In addition, 80% said they use Instagram to research available services and products before purchasing, and 83% claim they discover new services and products while flipping through their Instagram feeds.

Instagram Is Versatile

As Instagram users, real estate agents can brand themselves in the real estate niche, in their local community market, and as themselves. Additionally, those specializing in luxury homes, first-time homebuyers, or commercial real estate can focus on that particular niche. Don't overlook posts centered around community and service areas to gain recognition as a local expert. Finally, agents share stories, pictures, videos, and Reels with their faces to promote themselves and increase recognition.

Many marketing strategies appear stiff or come off as hard sales tactics, whereas Instagram is natural and authentic. Agents can be themselves in their posts, sharing a genuine love of their work and creating human connections.

Instagram allows agents to reply to comments and questions on their posts, interacting with potential customers in an enjoyable format. Instagram can enable you to attract more sellers and buyers to generate momentum and grow your real estate business. Setting up an Instagram account as a real estate agent only takes a few minutes, and posting photographs and videos barely feels like work.
